I’m there in a few weekends and have a day to ride.

I grew up there but wasn’t really into road bikes at the time so am struggling for inspiration. I’d like a mix of nice roads and tough hills.

I was thinking of a loop to include the Winter hill climb, the rivington/belmont road, the rake, Nick o’ pendle.

Somewhere around the 80 mile mark.

Anybody got some good rides on strava or recommend roads to ride or avoid? You could save me some time planning on strava and google.

    Thanks,

Rivi and Belmont are always good. Plenty of route sites about (bikely, map my ride etc) for ideas.

Check out the pedalnorth website, some good routes on there….

Pop me an email if you like, I do a lot of road riding round that way.

I don’t have a definitive route to offer but could point you in the direction of some lovely lanes over towards Parbold and the quieter roads on the West Pennine Moors.

This one starts out flat with the hills at the end – I think I’d do it in reverse

    or this one

Obviously you’ll need to cut in / alter the start point, but the roads are good.
