Road clinchers, specifically.
I have the following:
Rim A: Outer width 20mm, inner width 15mm.
Rim B: Outer width 23mm, inner width 18mm.
I’m considering the following carbon rim, which has a thicker hook profile:
Rim C: Outer width 23mm, inner width 15mm.
Question: for each of a number of characteristics such as tyre profile, cornering stability, bump absorption etc, will it behave more like Rim A, Rim B or somewhere between the two? (Assume we’re talking about running the same ~25mm tyre on each rim.)
I have vague theories, but I’m hoping someone who’s used similar thick-hooked carbon rims can provide a comparison from experience.
Cheers 🙂
