I’ve recently moved to Great Harwood. Looking for places to ride and/or people to ride with. Can anyone suggest some good local[ish] routes and clubs/groups I might be able to get involved with?

Looking at the OS map of the area doesn’t give a good impression because northwards it’s mostly agricultural. However these guys know loads of excellent routes in your area:

They have gone underground a bit since they were “raided” by the woman who is going round blackmailing mountain bike clubs but you can contact them via Farcebook as well.

Happy to show you some routes over towards Longridge/Bowland fells depending on your fitness you can ride/drive over from Great Harwood. It’s about 7 or 8 miles from GH to Hurst Green.

Some decent trails in accrington , park at the whitakers arms in huncoat and head up to the kings highway

loads of routes around darwen tower as well which isnt too far away

Rivington/Healey nab is a 30 min drive away

Gisburn forest is about 30 mins away as well

happy to show you round rivvy but it is a drive away so i suspect knowing the darwen side trails is a better option
