I have a Rocky ETSX 70 frame(5yrs now) but fancy a change, I cannot afford a new bike but maybe could upgrade the frame. What lightweight reasonalbly priced frames are out there suitable for peak district/macc forest area…any bargains out there …

I quite like the trek fuel but not sure…any suggestions welcome..

Trek fuel is carbon frame only I think?

ETSX's aren't exactly heavy frames are they?
How about a hardtail (130-140mm ish fork) frame for more of a change?

The Fuel is a great frame…

Can be bought as an Alu model and also a carbon one…. Best way to do it is by a bike…. swap the bits you dont want on to the old frame and then sell the other as a bike to fund the purchase!!!!

    I have a 2009 ex9 and I kid you not it is bloody brill…..

Well that is my 2p worth!

yeah but after you have got the new frame you will also need:

    new outer cables
new BB and maybe new chainset
    new seat post
    new seat post QR
    headset removed and refitted.

probably easier to get your ETSX nicked and get a whole new bike on your insurance.
