SPD cleats were well and truly stuck in my shoes and after reading all the feeds on here I realised I would need to drill them out. Spent hours drilling with a high speed "for metal" drill bit with very little success – but then went and bought a BOSCH Titanium 6.5mm drill from B & Q – and with a tiny drop of bike oil for lubrication – hey presto – talk about hot knife through butter – cleats instantly removed in about 5 seconds flat – success! So titanium drill bit is the way to go – cost me a fiver. Well worth it. Lesson learned though – grease them screws well before you install and check them regularly.
