Which free programme do you recommend to convert a Word doc to an epub file?

I think Calibre supports Word doc formats as input?

if not then may need to go via an intermediate step, either saving from Word in another format first, or using LibreOffice or something.

I’d looked at few of the free online converters but found them to be less than ‘free’ in some case; wanting to retain the film rights of your work in exchange for their services (not that I think anyone would want to make a film of my file). Authors beware!

Calibre is the daddy of ebook conversion and management. If it doesn’t support Word natively there’s probably a plugin for it.
