    Hi,

Looking for a faster rolling tyre for the odd race. I’m 13.5 stone on a FS bike and was thinking of trying a set of racing ralphs. I’m not sure what size to go for. I have 2.1 high rollers and Fire XC and 2.25 Nobby Nics that look fairly massive in comparison.

What would folk recommend and does anyone know if the merlin ones are the up to date version?

The pictures on Merlin’s site are of the “new” ones. I don’t race but I have 2.25″ RRs and they don’t seem overly wide to me. Personally, I wouldn’t want 2.1s

I have 2.1s and 2.25, the 2.1s never get used now. The 2.25s are brilliant for racing as well as general trail riding (4″ FS).

I have the 2.1s and like them a lot.

2.1s for me – very quick yet comfortable over the rougher stuff (when ghetto’d) – but I’ve never tried 2.25s.

Think Gary at Zone Cycles in Newark is about the cheapest.

Its a shame merlin aren’t selling the snakeskin versions, as the sidewalls on the evolutions are very thin

Thanks for the replies decided to go for the 2.25 size. Hope they last as well as my Nobby Nics.
