I’m gonna give this whole wheel-building malarkey a go.

Using the Wheelcraft calculator I get 292mm and 293mm for the spoke lengths. Can someone who has already been down this route confirm these numbers for me?

    Thanks.

seems to be 292mm-294mm on DTSwiss calculator* so a box of 293mm will probably do it for you.

    * has always worked for my builds, but Ive never used hope hubs.

The NoTubes chart seems to confirm this..

Built 2 sets and 292/294 is spot on

So – would it be ok to just use 293s?

    Maybe.

Cheepest place for spokes by far is Rose and they sell them in 20’s or singles so you can get an exact number (or just order 40 in each size and keep some spare).

The usual rule of thumb is to round down as spokes stretch during building (more aplicable to Revs than Comps though). And getting the length exactly right is only really an issue with aluminium nipples where the nipple needs to be as full as possible to stop it deforming.

I prefer to buy boxes of 100 so that I build up a collection for future builds.

The technique I use when building can compensate for the +/- 1mm at the lacing stage so I would normally save on hassle by just getting 293mm and adapting.

But Rose are good value for smaller batches as spoon says.
