I’ve got some clear plastic riding glasses that have got quite scratched.
Any tips for polishing them out?
Don’t mind if it turns out to wreck them as they are unusable just now.

Meguiars PlastX is a decent plastic polish for use on car dials so that may work but be gentle with it and use a good quality cloth.

Just like polishing scratches from car paint. Always start with least aggressive method first. So yer plastx (check elitecarcare, does samples, dunno if he still does) car polish or you could go crazy and use different grades wet n’ dry working up to 1500+, I assume the tint on the lenses is on the inside, never really looked.

Let us know how you get on, I need to do mine, just chuck em in my pocket.

A little bit of heat might do it. Hair drier or hand drier might be enough or a paint remover on low.

No tint as they are clear. Heat is a good shout. Will give a few things a try tomorrow and update

I’ve heard toothpaste works well…it is a gentle abrasive.

    Seriously!

And keeps your shades looking (smelling) fresh.

Those resin mouding kits have a very fine polish, which you use after the fine wet ‘n dry. Not sure where you would get it though.

I took my Oakleys in to the opticians when I was in for an eye test.

I asked him what was best to use (hoping he would do them for me!)

Which he did, it took him a couple of minutes and he charged me nothing 🙂

So far tried turtle wax which got rid of smaller scratches. Toothpaste will be next tonight then heat at work tomorrow

Car wax will just temporarily “fill” the scratches so you can see them.

It won’t have got rid of them.
