After 3+ years of puncture free riding since I changed to tubeless (well none that didn’t seal) it all went wrong on Saturday afternoon on an icy ride in the Pentlands behind Carlops :(. The gash in the tread was maybe about 5 mm and wouldn’t seal. After buying a tubeless repair kit for just this kind of event earlier this year I had found it was the stupid stick a patch on the inside type and had been reading in the mag about the anchovy type thing last week, but typically hadn’t ordered any yet. So on a freezing afternoon after 20+ min of faffing I was about to admit defeat and stick a tube in. Cue deliverance in the form of another rider – Tom on a Moonlander – who had the decency to stop and take time out of his ride to sort me out with one of the anchovy repairs :-). Saved my ride and made my day. Got another 35km in after that. So if you are reading this, Tom, many thanks 😀

Anyone else on the receiving or giving end of good karma this weekend?
