We are planning a couple of days in that there London with the kids, the train fare is rather steep so I was thinking could I park at Heathrow and use the underground to get into town? Is the underground be accessible without a plane ticket?

Another alternative would be to park at airparks near Luton and then get on the train from Luton airport Parkway.30 minutes to kings cross.

Why Heathrow? Parking tends to be at a premium there. You could probably park on street safely enough near the end of some of the Underground lines.

Should be able to get parking at one of the official Heathrow long stay car parks for less than £49. You’d then be able to use their free regular shuttle bus to get to/from the terminal which then gets you to the underground – which is accessible from landside.

Park on the street near Kew Gardens. Easy to get to from the M4.

Oh and bear in mind that the train fare isn’t cheap either. A 3 zone return on the underground is £10 per person.

Where are you coming from? Heathrow suggests M4 but if you confirm you’ll get some mint suggestions starting with this – https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/tube-station-car-parks where the stations are closer to London, the car parks next to the platforms, and the parking and tube fares cheaper. If you’re coming from the north/m1 I can heartily recommend Watford junction. I park there a lot and there’s a train into central London every 20 mins.

Only tip is though, take the midland train in and not the overground. The overground takes ages. The station has loads of parking and is only 10 mins off the m1
