The R8 is awesome!
A mate took me out for a drive in his R8 a while back OMFG is pretty much all I could say as I held on for dear life, they shift.

I used to work in CW and parked in Waitrose every day. I've got a picture somewhere of my RS4 parked between a veyron and a 458 when they'd just come out. CW car show was pretty good too, get out the lift from my office and theres a Gullwing merc, a 458 race car and the lotus F1 car looking back at you
This however wins it for me

I was in Porto Cervo when all the whooooharrr was being banded around about these, you reminded me of this.. The Yacht Club Porto Cervo has an underground carpark, oh yes, anyhoo's me and MrsBouy were walking along one of the pontoons when one of these rattled to a halt, clicked and ticked and thunk and this uber swave Italian got out, dripping in Gucci and so so sleek slender loafers, shades and slick backed hair.. He had to be the swankyest bloke I've seen.. Turns out he's racing on a yacht in the same regatta as us lot of reprobates... He still looked swanky as when he stepped off at the end of the windward leewards we were doing..
He was a very PoshGit*

Citroen = Cheese and White flag transport device
This, from someone incredibly disrespectful towards the brave souls in the French Resistance who did their bit so you can be free to make silly comments on an internet forum wihout fear of persecution, torture and even death, but then you go and really show yourself up by posting a picture of:
stupid great lumps of ugly are so utterly bereft of any design merit or engineering quality I can't even begin to express my contempt*
And thereby lose any shred of credibility you may possibly have had, and ensured your disqualification from making any comments on any matter of design, aesthetics, style and taste.
Oh whell.
Purest Pron:

Was working in Rome in the summer; came back to the hotel one evening and there were about 50 Ferraris in the car park. I think they were gathered to do something for Italy's Republic Day holiday. The grey one looks particularly mundane for a Ferrari.

I like trucks, you can chuck up to half a dozen bikes in the back and carry five or six bodies in them, pretty much anywhere you like, all that exotic crap, other than sitting in the fast lane at 60 nose to tail, wtf use are they anywhere below the M6 from Penrith?

Want one of these, probably totally impractical but looks like it will be a total hoot to drive.

bikebuoy, I hate to break it to you, but your two Alfa's on the previous page? One of them's a Fiesta XR2 with an Alfa badge on it...

Bagshot don't have a Sainsbury's!
Well that road between Bagshot and Bracknell then, whatever you call it; I don't care, I don't live there any more. I live somewhere nice.

Rubbish, by today's standards really, but as a piece of design, wonderful. It struck me that the 2VC will be still remembered when all the other cars on the street are long forgotten.
My first car as a student was one of the limited edition 2CV6 Charlestons that they made towards the end of the model's life. As it happens there is one stored in front of a village workshop near here. Right year but wrong registration. If anyone knows the whereabouts of NTB906W then say hi from me. And yes I know it is most likely gone to the great scrap yard in the sky.

Really loving some of the cars here
Always amazes me that the old 2cv's pop up on these threads
I've owned 3 2cv's and 2 dyanes which to me are a much better car.I've always loved air cooled engines
Here's a picture of my old karmann Ghia - quite an early one being a 1957
Sadly sold this.
.
.My last classic was this 67 swb porsche 912 - it was a lovely old thing and i spent a lot of time getting her looking like this. Best thing was it was rhd too. Still wish i had it. What a fantastic shape and it still carries over into the modern 911's
.

.
My plan was to sell the 912 and buy a citroen ds - i sold the 912 but then never got round to buying the ds
That was about 3 years ago now and i dont really feel the urge for an old car any more - except when the sun is shining and then i start to mull it over again
'Some really good taste in cars from the stw crowd

Pacemaker Not sure who owns the cars in Kahns but the urban myths are they may not be his but friends who bought them from ill gotten gains. Whatever the story he has some serious money up there. Mate of mine does the painting/colour coding of the interior panels for him and is able to charge handsomely.

Love the DS myself, but think I'd prefer the Mazarrati engined SM.

Saw one of these at the 2CV world meet a few years ago, DS Bagagere, used for newspaper distribution in France I believe.

we used to have a 1937 TA, think my bike has better brakes, absolutely terrorfying braking from 70. We used have to drive along an oil can filled with petrol to squirt into to bell housing to cure the chronic clutch slippage, happy days

Elf I does believe that the car you are/should be referring to is

Snapped up by a Japanese gentleman for a song (600k) at the Bertone liquidation sale
Posted 4 months ago # -
Have you ever driven one Elf? Bloody awful gearbox in them.
Having owned 2cv's since 1987, and still have the one I bought in "89, I also disagree.
Unles of course you drive too fast in reverse and "unwind" the gearbox.

My God there are some Rose tinted specs on here tonight.
The 2CV ffs Renault 4L was a way better car if surrender and eat cheese you must.
And Porch, this was the best looking one they ever made

with the exception maybe of that 959 I might have liked when I was young dumb and full of..
Now how about something really cool..

Imagine people liking different things, what's the world coming to.

Er thumbs up on the Karman Ghia, nice in its day..

If you ever find yourself in Stuttgart the Merc museum is well worth a visit.

70s Maseratis are where it's at. Yes please.
As for me, my car pron tastes are much simpler. I'd go misty eyed for an immaculate 1991 Golf GTi 16v. Ayrton Senna apparently loved his.
And on that subject I quite like the NSX too.

Now how about something really cool..

Someone once told me that trucks were cool because you could throw a load of bikes in the bake and carry a load of mate, unlike the sports car. That thing has less clearance than a sports car for off road duties and I imagine would handle like a pig on the road. For the love of god, what is it trying to be?Posted 4 months ago # -

Er that would be a babe magnet is my guess. Wimmen luv men in trucks, they think men in sports cars especially red ones are deficient in the penile department, there again, in this environment they're probably not to far of the pace all those mini budgies being smuggled in lycra on single speed bikes..
