    Article deleted, too early perhaps?
Looks great anyway, the gap between the Nomad and Bronson needed broadening a bit I think.

That linkage looks a bit…hmm… and the seat tube looks a bit… errr…is that ‘mustard’?

    Hopefully it’s an xxl…

I won’t sit on the fence.
Really liked the older models but not loving that.

    Hahaha. That thing is disgusting!

For a company that usually makes good looking bikes, that, is a turd.

It looks like an ugly old Commencal Supreme.

Should have swept the toptube down a lot further to shorten that link – my eyes.

Although, that might be an XL 29er….

Yep that’s hideous. Certainly compared with the intense tracer. I suspect they may have taken it too far and made another driver 8

As per the rumour then. Fugly.

Looks aside, really bad place for a shock on a trail bike. Mud zone. But then I guess it’s becoming an Enduro V10.

Except about 10lbs lighter and with a better pedalling position.

Enduro bikes are moving towards 170/180mm of travel.

I’m pretty sure it will have a fender stuck in there on the full production versions and coils are less susceptible to shit.

Best place for a coil shock is as low in the frame as possible.

    Santa Cruz carbon rims too.

Glad I went ahead and ordered a new Tracer as soon as I saw that test mule.

I guess the shock position helps them fit a full size bottle cage which seems to be all important these days.

The colour doesn’t help, it looks like an XL which never look as nice as the medium frame, but it could just be the shock position making it look bigger.

TBH there’s only ever been 1 good looking Nomad frame, the current one, but it’s an SC, it’ll be popular, it will be desirable and tastes will change to it.

There’s some flex in those seat stays then? They’re not braced anywhere…

Interesting ideas for an enduro bike, there’s room for a bottle in the front triangle and a coilover if one desires.

I’m still trying to work out what’s keeping it from being a flaccid mess on the corners with the combined leverage of two linkages at either end of an exaggerated ‘V’ rear end. One can imagine that riding this would feel like playing snooker with a length of rope.

Looks like there is a brace coming off the very top of the non-drive side seatstay down to the chainstay.

I bet it’s an absolute blast to ride. Looks like a hooligan of a bike.

Don’t mind the looks. Obviously it’s just a test mule at this point. Production model will be much tidier no doubt.

That is the production one. The test mule was all white and knocking around a few months back.

    Brace on non drive side.
    Shock fender fitted as standard.
Reducing upper link length by dropping top tube would alter the axle path.
Looks nicer in the flesh…. 😉

Crapping Dog comparison was tired 1st, 2nd, 3rd times around – never mind the 4th.
The design element that led to the comparison was the top tube bulge around the head tube area – a design that almost all other brands have since incorporated, and that interestingly SCB have moved away from. 😉

    Never owned a Nomad BTW.

    Looks alright to me.

Hopefully the story was taken down because SC have decided to go away and turn it into a 29er.

Having owned a nomad mk2 and mk3, I won’t be rushing to by a mk4 on the ascetics, however i guess it’s down to how it rides though

I like it, but it will have a reach similar to a kids frame so it won’t be an issue! That and it will cost 87 grand.!

Embargo until Friday so expect STW to get rid of the pic if they were on the press trip. Got the details given to me last night and very tempted…

I think the lifetime-warranty carbon wheels with 24-hr turnaround are a more interesting devlopment than the bike.

That said, Pinkbike managed to break them…

The geometry is remarkably similar to the radon swoop.

And the large has a nice low seat tube, which I wish more brands would do.

The designer interviewed on PB used to work for kona I believe, so maybe the process geometry was an influence.

I wonder if you can bolt on a bigger rear mud guard, otherwise surely its going to eat shocks over the winter with that placement?

Not really unless the warranty covers damage rather than manufacturing issues
