Hi,
This one is a 2011.It is a warranty replacement for a 2009 one.Glad to see that little gusset welded at the base of your frame. My 2009 didn't have one and later developed a crack, hence the replacement.Customer service is as good as ever at Turner! Many thanx to Greg at Turner! He's the man!
Thanx Max

You will love it I'm sure.

My 2009 Flux came in at 28lbs with not especially lightweight kit so 26-27lbs very achievable.

Several owners on MTBR have built theirs below 25lbs.

It's an excellent singletrack flyer!

Over on mtbr the law states that your new Turner frame has to be pictured on your sofa. A wheelie bin and a new Turner frame should never be seen in the same pic.

I got out on my 5 Spot for the first time in ages tonight. I'd forgotten just how good it was.

Enjoy.

i will hopefully be ordering mine tomorrow if merlin confirm the price for my custom build (i wouldn't dream of gracing it with humble slx!)

the only issue i have is that the price is very similar to a canyon which would have a far far higher spec for the cash, but wil not be quite as special

Turnerfan1 - are you referring to the gusset welded between the base of the shock & the base of the seat tube?
If so my 2009 doesn't have that!

Nice!

Are the frames totally 'raw', or is there some form of laquer on them ?

Dickie: The 2009 frames don't have the gusset, also they don't have a continuous weld around the top of the 'taco' ( the bit that braces the top tube/seat tube )
I had a 2009 5-Spot which cracked on the 'taco welds, it was swiftly replaced under warranty with a 2010 frame.

Most of the pics are above (these are of the 23.5 lbs version)Unfortunately not any of the frame only as was in too much of a rush to build it up! Think the head tube length hasn't changed (mine is an XL) but the main differences are the cable guides (including one for a dropper post) and the new 'burrito' gusset rather than the 'taco' gusset.
Thanx Max

I am feeling cheated here - my 2009 flux never had the flux stickers on the frame ๐Ÿ™

campfreddie, if its mine you are referring to, the forks are Fox 36's set at 160mm, which is ok for the 5-Spot. Although i'm now running a Revelation RLT 150mm, due to the 36 stanchions wearing out....

Gary_C: Thanks for the feedback - my 09 DW Flux has some small hairline cracks on the welds of the taco - at this time I'm just keeping an eye on them as they are very small & thought it might just be a little paint cracking due to flex.

Sefton, Luckily for me, I needed a large frame- so got a Merlin bargain one. And even luckier....... what arrived is most definitely a 2010 frame ๐Ÿ™‚
I'll post some pics when it's finished. 120mm x 20mm Rebas, Hope everything, EC90 bars, Xtr shifters, XT mechs, SLX crank (might change this at some point), Rocket Rons.

I have a 5-Spot too- started out with an 09 but had a "problem" with it. It was replaced with a 2010 model.

Love these bikes, and customer service at Turner is as good as everybody says.

Any of you Flux owners able to take a photo of your frame with a decent size rear tyre in it please? I'm looking to buy but concerned that they don't look to have enough room for my 2.25 Ralph with a bit of clearance around it.

Also, any of you guys have big feet? those chainstays look awful wide, any problems with clipping them with you feet?

Cheers.

Blazin-saddles, I've put a Rocket Ron 2.25 on a Crest rim in the Flux. Looks fine for clearance; could do a pic later.
I don't have unusually big feet, but do pedal with an unusual amount of "heel in" (like a duck!), and don't have any heel clearance issues on the 5-Spot. Think the spot's a bit wider there too.

2.25 Rocket Ron's on mine, & size 45 shoes - no issues.

I have a 09 version bought from here 6 months or so ago. Will be keeping a close eye on the taco and the bottom of the seat tube. Mine weighs 27lbs with nice bits but not the lightest bits.
