On iPhone
I used the same process - enter text to be in quotation marks>tap quotation symbol at end of text string>tap 'return' twice then submit. No use of eraser or highlighting of text.
ON MY PHONE THERE IS NO GREY BAR WITH SPEECHMARKS OR ANYTHING !!
Try clearing your browser cache. On Chrome this can be done by going to History -> Clear browser data -> (tick) images and files. See if they appear after you've cleared it.

For those who don't have buttons when posting, there's good old BBCode markup. In the examples below replace the round brackets with square brackets when doing it for real...

OK, got it again , I think. And without making the quoted text massive
1. Copy text you want to include in the quote
2. Paste it into the reply box.
3. Press the " button (this highlights the text)
4. Place the cursor back in the reply box (this will remove the highlight)
5. Press return on the keyboard twice

Yep you need to use the eraser on the highlighted text - some people might not but most seem to need to....
Hopefully the finished version will be back to press quote paste press quote.....
While not having formatting buttons is generally a bit annoying, at least I seem to be immune to the formatted pasting issue that others seem to be experiencing. 🙂
Or, if you're on a actual pooter wiv Micerosroft Windows, paste the text into Notepad, then copy and paste it from there. That strips the formatting.
My browser (Opera) has a "Paste as plain text" option in its right-click menu too. But I usually use Ctrl-V so I hadn't really noticed it before.

Would it be that some of us who may, or may not, be running anti add software are experiencing a lack of tool bar as it is now being blocked?
This is horrific....may have been mentioned earlier but can't read anything with all the random massive quoted text everywhere. In my profile it used to show threads I had replied too, now just lists my posts which is useless and there's no actual link to the threads either. Probably my own fault for cancelling my subscription a week ago but will be deleting my account at this rate as it's almost unusable 🙁
