Inspired by a steel 29er thread on here I’m flogging my unused Yeti FS and built this. 29er Inbred on Pace Rc31 Ti forks.

Still waiting for an XT front brake to come in stock before I trim the hoses and sort the steerer length (and weed the patio).

Took the kids to the park on it.

Saddle needs to go back slightly, stem up a notch and a chain tug needed as wheel was slipping slightly. Otherwise enjoyed it. Feels VERY different to the geared Hummer I have!

Looking forward to next weekend to test it proper in the Epping mud fest. My geared bikes have always suffered terrible chain suck in the sticky clay/mud so hoping this solves all that!

    nice build.

    Surly tuggnut FTW.

Like the UNO – I have middleburn & spiders on all of mine.

Ordered the Surly earlier today so hopefully that will do the trick

I keep toying with one of those… going to be in the market for a new hardtail soon.

£139 for the frame. Rude not too!

Erm, you might want to consider deeper tread tyres.

It’s a bit muddy out there.

They are 440mm. Took them off my commuter. Short?

Dunno they feel ok, if a bit stiff 😉

I dont need more tread. I have the skillz 😉

May get a Nic for the rear if traction is a problem. Always been ok with Ralphs but there will be a lot more honking out the saddle on this so may be an issue.

Ah thought the 29er ones were 470 ish , no matter so long as you like it, I ran my 26″ ones on a standard inbred years ago with a 29er front wheel in and it was sound 😉

You may be right. Was running the 440 Pace forks on my roadrat commuter.

Bought the On One 420’s as that’s what it should have and swapped them over.

Feels fine but never ridden 470’s so can’t compare.

Stem does feel like it should come up a bit.

I think the bad picture makes them look shorter than they actually are in the first pic.

Very nice, do you know the frame weight by any chance?

Nice build, but designed to run with 470mm rigids; it might be a tad sharp up front! 😯

Epping was very wet Sunday MM. About as wet as it ever gets.

Isn’t a complaint of 29ers thier slow steering compared to a 26er? I may have solved this 😀

Not sure of frame weight but didn’t feel light…but I’m used to a Ti frame

Shame to christen it in all that mud Wally but that’s what it’s been built for.
