Off MTB for a while with a back injury, but Physio has recommended still cycling but on the flat/tarmac. I’m not going to buy a road bike just for the interim, and in fact think the suspension and dropper post of my MTB is good for my back at the moment, sooo…

Is there any such thing as a Tubeless UST 29er slick tyre?

I’ve had a quick look but can’t seem to find anything at my usual online haunts 🙁

Can you not just use a large road tyre? I wouldn’t go tubeless for the pressure that will work best on road.

I used to use specialised armadillos on my old commute bike, kevlar armour so never a puncture, regardless of the ammount of glass they collected.

Chief – Yep, could use a fat 700C I guess, but having invested in the whole UST thing, was hoping never to use a tube again!

Got a prolapsed disk, so need to take it gently till that heals, but then planning on taking up something – pilates, yoga, tai chi, limbo dancing, anything to try and strengthen the back so it doesn’t happen again…
