  • Network printer doesn’t work in 1 profile – ideas?

    Dear All,
My wife’s laptop uses the printer attached to my PC tower via a wireless home network, we have a family network set up and all run vista.
My daughters have their own user profiles/accounts on her laptop. They log on, work away and when selecting ‘print’ their default printer is seen as the one on my pc and it prints. No prob’s
My wife tries to print from her profile – and it’s totally random. It didn’t work last night, then worked just now, then tried again we get ” windows cannot find printer – is it switched on?…..etc etc “
I’ve checked that the default printer on her setup is set to the one on my pc and also gone through the ” Find printer” wizard, again selecting the printer on my pc. It prints a test page but after closing it all down, firing it up and trying to print again ” Windows cannot fin….” you know the rest!!!!
It seems to have ‘forgotten’ the printer pathway or something.

    Any ideas?
    cheers
