The sign up page for Netflix includes this small print:

. By clicking “Start Membership” and the tickbox below, you request and expressly consent to the immediate start of your Netflix membership, acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal and authorise us to continue your month-to-month Netflix membership (currently £6.99) automatically, charged monthly to the payment method provided, until you cancel. High Definition (HD) and Ultra High Definition (Ultra HD) availability subject to your internet service and device capabilities.

What is my “right of withdrawal”?

just means that once you pay you’ve paid for that month and they will continue to take money until you cancel.

what poah said. and perhaps that you give away any rights under the distance selling regulations. Unsure if you really can give away rights like that but it seems commonplace for downloaded goods like movies, music, and software.

Just means don’t ask for your money back I think.

As per most digital downloads etc…

Ta. Shall not be renewing anyway, me and Netflix clearly have very different ideas about what “HD” means.
