    1) I will always, always, always wear knee pads now as even flat tarmac roads 5 minutes from home can bite very hard.

    2) I cannot corner properly if I can’t stick my inside knee out properly to counter outside-foot-down. So weird, just can’t weight the bike and never even noticed it was part of my riding style until now.

    3) There is nothing that can compare to getting back on a bike and riding again after injury. Race success, hitting big jumps, nailing a technical nemesis….none of these hold the utter bliss that is being able to pedal, off road, even in the torrential night time rain when you’ve not been able to.
