Not me (fortunately for you) but my cousin performing her first self-made EP on local radio:

What say the STW music lovers?
Not my usual preferred listening genre, but the first two songs just blow me away.

Not my usual stuff either but I like that a lot, especially Artemis (which I’ve just listened to on a live recording on Youtube with harmony see below). She has a very nice quality to her voice

Reminiscent of All about Eve in a lot of ways, which can’t be a bad thing. Good luck to her. Does she gig away from Fife?

Does she gig away from Fife?

She runs Acoustic Music In Fife ( http://www.acousticmusicinfife.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk ) so she is pretty tied there. She’s had gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow I think but no further. I’m sure she’d be up for going further afield if anyone offered her a good gig though.

    Thanks for the feedback chaps.
If you’d like to listen to any of her tracks again (without the idiot DJ) or want to know more then check out her myspace page:

Great voice, really like the songs. Too much compression on the guitar and vocal (IMHO), but if it was recorded better it would be great by any standard. A+++.

lodious: is that a mixing issue?

Bear in mind the first YouTube clip is off the radio and the tunes on myspace are just normal bitrate mp3s.
    Would that account for it?

Yes, compression is usually applied when mixing (I’m talking about audio compression, which reduces the level of the volume peaks, not data compression like converting to mp3). Myspace does tend to mangle quality though (dunno if it’s got better recently?).

Bottom line, sounds like she has real talent, and deserves some time in a quality studio.
