    Hi
I need to buy some new mtb shoes.
    I run clipless.
I dont want to spend a fortune.
I ride xc long all day rides and quick blasts with the dog.
    Any suggestions.
Currently have some lakes but they were a one off ebay special.
Worn out now and my feet have spread a bit….
Wiggle dhb any good, shimano, mavic.?
    Please help.

Ok then looking at dhb shoes.

Can’t go wrong with Shimano shoes in my opinion.

I have a set of their winter boots and a set of their “summer” shoes (M123 I think.)

Just considering purchasing a set of either AM45, M162, XC50 or XC50N. All between 50 and 80 quid so not exactly expensive as far as bike shoes go!

+1 DHBs: good VFM but get torn up pretty easily and don’t like the wet

+1 Shimano XC50N: more waterproof than the XC50, comfortable and generally pretty good all round – worth the £80-£100

Have a look at CRC’s ‘price drop’ sale on high end Diadora’s. Picked up some all-singing-all-dancing carbon disco-slippers for around £50 – very happy with them

Whatever the cheapest Shimano is at the time that has a ratchet on the top strap.
