Thanks to all of those who replied to my thread about a shock upgrade for a 2006 Orange 5.
I think I’ve decided to swap the Manitou X3 for a Rockshox Monarch. Rosebikes has the R for £117, RL for £142 or RT3 for £197. I’m tempted just to get the basic Monarch R. Is there any good reason to go for the RT3? I don’t race or often do big mountains and am not bothered about a lockout.
    Cheers.

One is more adjustable (larger range of 12 or so settings as apposed to 3 or so with the rt3) with Rebound I think.
Something says it’s the lowest one too.

    R has rebound adjust
RL has rebound and lockout adjust
RT3 has rebound and 3 compression adjustments locked, pro pedal and open

    Go for the R.
The RT only changes floodgate (break away force required) for the lockout mode.

Make sure you get the right tune on the shock.
