Just a note to say thanks again to the Royal Marine guys who took me under their wing and let me ride in place of their missing man. I only went along as a pit bitch/spectator/beer disposal with some friends, so I was well pleased, had a fantastic stint through the night, loved every minute – although I thought I might get murdered at the end of my last lap when my timing chip had mysteriously vanished (it turned up bizarrely velcro’d to the back of my shirt). Pretty good bragging rights at work today, too (nonchalantly:”yeah, I was racing on the Marines’ team”). Top notch.
The guy I replaced had had his bike stolen by some **** from his car just after he had finished loading it to head to Eastnor. I almost pity the scumbag if he ever catches him.
