Got my magicshine light (with new, improved battery) this weekend. Looks chuffing bright and can’t wait to try it out in the local woods this week.

My question is: Can i cut the US plug off and just wire on a UK plug? or do i need a US to UK adaptor? And if i do re-wire it, will the wire colours be the same as in the UK?

(PS: Yes, i realise that’s actually 3 questions)

That’d be your best bet – less chance of making a costly (or dangerous) mistake

Use a shaver plug adapter. Available at any DIY store and wilko’s for about a quid

OP – Does your’s have a flying lead to the plug from the charger? Mine is an integral US plug/charge unit – and cutting that off and putting a UK plug on it would send 240VAC into the battery rather than the normal 8.4VDC…

Anyway, just stick a US-UK adaptor on.
