I changed the oil on my lyriks a few months ago and they were fine then but over the last couple of rides they haven’t felt right. They’re 2008 u-turns with the mission control damper.

On today’s ride the forks felt very, very stiff and the low speed and high speed compression adjusters made no impact regardless of where they were set. On climbs, even if I was up out of the saddle there was no bob at all from the forks, even with the compression wide open. In addition, when I turn the low speed adjuster, there are no clicks, it just turns freely.

So, is a service kit for the damper likely to sort it, or is it time for a complete new damper?
