and now can’t log in to the PC….DVD drive is stuck/ won’t eject so I can’t auto force my XP dvd ( if I could find the DVD , that would be a big **** help..) to boot up and overwrite the Nt2000 OS currently on there.

    So on a scale of 1 -10 , how fecked am I????

get a paperclip, straighten it out a bit and shove it in the tiny hole on the front of the tray of the DVD drive. that should manually open it; if you find the OS disc you should at least be able to install…

There should be a little hole in the DVD drive drawer. Push in a paper clip or similar and it’ll spring the drawer open.

When the PC boots up, go in to the bIOS and select “Boot from CD”

Stick the CD in, switch it on

So on a scale of 1- 10, about 1 at the moment. Apart from people pointing fingers at you and going ‘nar nar nar nar nar’.

If all else fails, take it back to your techs, tell them what you’ve done, buy them beer/ doughnuts.
