it was something in his shoulder. His back wasn't broken.

I like the reprise panorama – cos i'm in it, doing a similar route to the boggies but in the right direction!?!

    but in the right direction!?!

I just prefer the excitement (& fear) of going down the ladder and off Rushup and into The Roych. I've done it the other way a couple of times but didn't like it as much. People seem quite polarised over this.

It's a fair point sfb, good either way i'm sure, the drop down to Roych from where we passed you is a lot of fun though, and I like the challenge of the steps climbing up Rushup. Jacobs as a down is a slow down for me whereas the drop down Oaken Clough is less steep but fast, like the grassy field down to the Kinder reservoir too

    Good route that 🙂

I like the funny gate latch handles on Ruchup Edge

Jacob's Ladder (before I made a tit of myself in front of the two walkers)

edit: lol t-i-t is in the swear filter!

Kit, sadly that track over to Coldwell Clough was sanitised and the gates replaced 🙁

    Superb photos as always,Simon.

Graham told me about the 'grumpy git' whilst he was descending Jacob's Ladder…..FFS,why are people like that?

I understand it was Graham's fault for not saying 'please'…

first time i looked at that i thought he was riding down no-handed. but as i look again i ask "why is he walking?". and i think "he prob couldn't even track stand" 😉

It was actually supposed to be a beginner circular ride round Hayfield, but when no raw newbies turned up I changed it for the benefit of the more seasoned riders, but there were a few who didn't attempt the ladder descent. The rider in that shot isn't one of our group.
FYI, I cannot trackstand either 🙂

The rider in that shot looks to have a very flat rear tyre…

Simon, sorry to hijack but me and my bro in law once did a ride on the moor above Pecket well, it was a figure of 8 that he got off Bogtrotters i think. Is there any chance of you sending me a link to a map please?

    Cheers Jason

The descent on your pics (although straight fwd) looks soo easy on your pics. First time I went straight down it without checking and boy could I have crushed a piece of coal into a diamond with my ass' 😯

The descent is fine once you're actually on it, but it does take a bit of MTFU at the top.

that always happens. It is very steep, always scares the shit out of me but I enjoy that 🙂

Setting off from the top with the rocks covered in ice and snow is a tad daunting.

    Cracking pics btw

Was almost speachless with admiration but i guess it's a different Jacob's ladder.
