    Hi all…

The freehub on this Quad hub has started to jam so thought I’d go ahead and give it a general clean and lube… but there is no locknut or space for an Allen key – just the hole for the skewer. The hub is described as having sealed cartridge bearings – but does this mean I can’t dismantle it at all? And can the freehub be ‘persuaded’ off?

    Cheers for looking…

Those end caps look push fit…

    I’d guess at
Pull off drive side end cap
Tap axle from the drive side out of the left hand side of the hub
Then put large Allen key inside the hub and unscrew the free hub body bolt and watch hub body fall off

Thanks for that; much appreciated! I will have a go at the end caps…I’m guessing lots of penetrating oil, mole grips and a mallet..?

They should just pull… Mole grips are likely to cause more harm than good.
