  • Is there any way to hide a drive partition on windows 7?

Basically, I’ve got an SSD I want to clone my boot partition to. But Trueimage (which the SSD came with) can’t deal with partitions, and the SSD’s much smaller than the old HDD. (it’s supposed to be able to selectively clone files but that doesn’t seem to work)

So- I’ve backed up, and the simple answer is to delete the data partition from the drive, and just leave the boot partition, then clone that. But then I’ll need to copy about 1.5gb of my porn landscape photography collection back to the drive and that’s generally a pain in the arse.

So… Is there any simple way to hide, suspend, unmount, disable or otherwise knacker the data partition, so that I can clone the boot partition by itself then just reinstate it after?

PS, it is hugely annoying that trueimage doesn’t work with partitions.

I used mini tools partition wizard. free and can clone all or just some partitions (and resize too if you want)

Boot linux? Lots of tools for that sort of job.

dd would do the trick, or gparted if you like menus.

Just about to recommend the same thing as Ji: Mini Tools. Just used it to swap a couple of disks this week.
