Looking to get into kayaking. Gonna get a general purpose kayak to play on flatish water and was wondering if there is an equivalent type of shop.

Try LOMO for kayak kit, wetsuits, spraydeck etc.
I think they sell everything except kayaks

Not really, brookbank was the closest but they’ve gone pop, it’s too small a sport for a crc type outfit.

Decathlon would be a good shout for gp stuff. Proper kayaking shops I tend to use desperate measures now as they’re the last of the few ive always used to still be in business. Where are you?

Joining a club is the best way to get into it, as all the kit you would need is borrow able.

I’m in Preston, Nick. Looking at going down to ribble canoe club. Did a taster a couple of years ago on the lune with brookbank at lancaster. Got a couple of mates that mess about on the marine lake at southport and i am only a couple of hundered yards from the lancaster canal.

These guys maybe? They are big in windsurfing and do good deals, so I presume they’re competitive for kayaks?
