There’s a few of us stopping in Innerleithen for a week from next Saturday 9th.

Are there any local rides going on that we could tag along with?

Any route advice? I can remember bits from the Selkirk CRC event but not all of it.

Anyone free for a bit of guiding? We can pay you in beer and cake. 😀

I think a fair bit of the CRC/Merida route is private. Don’t know about local rides soz.

Are the Yair and Elibank sections not just FC land and OK to ride?

No it’s not – they just say that so people pay to do the event

export to GPX – import to memory map – transcribe to paper map – thats my theory anyway -ill be trying it when i get home. i prefered the pre 09 course. last years was a bit guff – esp with forks that i was convinced were going to fall apart on me after the circlip came out.

AFAIK – The Selkirk riders also have a weekly evening ride, not sure what night.

That’s school holiday week, so there will probably be quite a few locals out and about trying to get away from the kids for a bit.

I live in Inners and am fairly knowledgeable on good local trails… including a nice loop from Innerleithen that takes in the good bits from the merida/CRC route (SUW, Yair, Elliebank etc).

I’m actually off that week, though we’re going away on the Wednesday or Thursday. Not sure of family plans on the Monday/Tuesday, but may be up for guiding a descent route.

oh… would most likely be free for guiding a big route on the Sunday (10th) if you fancied ?

I may be going out one afternoon that week if work pans out OK. I’d be going round the relatively unknown bits across the valley from the DH trails in Innerleithen if youse wanted to tag along. You’d probably have to wait for me on the ups though.
