I tried to make one with the 4 pinter (sure that's the right size) but my naff ways shone through again... quite liked the idea of DIY mudguards though.

I confess. Front one is original. Rear was something that I used a marker pen to clone (the cover of a plastic backed A4 notebook). Then some comapany started selling them with a snazzy name :;

I keep meaning to buy a muckynutz one. If you could get black milk bottles I would make one but is it really worth the time and effort for what they charge?

A4 plastic backed notepad was a hint. Oxford branded - See Asda or Sainsburys. TBF I feel bad about copying such an ovbiously obvious idea.

I had one made from a coke bottle of some description that lasted for about 18 months. It eventually got a bit too bent up so is waiting for a replacment to be made.
I'll have a look at the note pad as the drink bottle is rather flimsy.
I fixed mine on with some cable ties and inner tube wrapped round the fork legs. For this years model I'll use velcro.

I used some B&Q thermoplastic 4" guttering - softened under heat so could be moulded

If you could get black milk bottles I would make one but is it really worth the time and effort for what they charge?For the price I'd far rather pay someone who's had the chutzpah to make and market a useful product than defile my bike with some lashed up drainpipe/coke bottle/milk container made into an approximation of a crudguard, not to mention having far better things to do with my time than bicycle bluepetering

My attempt was not that sophisticated and used the base of a 5 litre detergent bottle but it did the job....

Now that is a funny picture.... it brightened up my day. Given there is about 3 rolls of electrical tape in there I figure front end weight not an issue for you then ?
