Switch Forca Vario dropper post for a bargain Reverb from Merlin.

Or,

Switch BB7s for bargain XT hydraulics from Merlin.

Head says brakes, heart says seatpost. What do you reckon?

I would rathe rhave better brakes than a better seatpost tbh

You’ll not notice the difference with the brakes after a week or so, but a dropper will add a new dimension to your riding.

Me, I’d probablly go for the reverb.
But to qualify that, at the mo’ I’m thinking of getting some BB7s myself after getting a bit p’ed off with the hydraulic brakes I’ve got leaking at the lever. They’re not XTs though.

Just ordered the XT brakes and associated bits and bobs.

Reverb will have to wait I guess.

BB7s are fine IMO unless you’re a DHer/bikepark regular

Was losing confidence in the BB7s after a couple of recent occasions when they just weren’t enough – even slapping a 200mm rotor on the front hasn’t helped much. EDIT – have also switched pads and fettled properly.

Already have a (cheap) dropper post, so it was always a case of do I improve my peace of mind with the brakes or get a shinier seatpost.

Like I said – 1st world problem.

Cancel your order with Merlin, re-order the brakes from Rose Bikes and put the money you save towards a Reverb.

Seatpost definitely – nowt wrong with BB7s at all.
