I’m being all grown up and am building a patio by myself.

I’ve done the obligatory digging, laying 4m depth of MOT1, whackering and general over engineering. All good so far. I even sought advice on here and heeded some of it as to patterns.

However, I’ve just (stupidly) realised that my modest plan of slabs surrounded by a single edge of pavers laid lengthways, all around, presents me with a 100mm x 100mm gap at each corner.

Chopping a paver in half would look a bit crap, and short of sticking a sett in each corner, or a blob of gravel, are there any other imaginative ideas?

Post holes for a massive tent/gazebo?

(The solar lights 🙂 ) The patio is only 3 x 2 to host an arbour and some pots etc, so gazebo not really relevant, but good idea for larger patio.

Poor wet concrete in, then press your hands in it, or feet, arse, face, something like that.

Just remember that wet concrete is not, errr [coughs] gentleman plum friendly. Unless you want a modest skin irritation problem.

Why would it leave a gap?

If there is a 100mm gap each end can you not move the pavers 100mm to the left leaving a 200mm gap to be filled by one paver?

Or maybe I’m visualising this design wrong?

Is that a typo or sarcasm ? Are you parking a challenger tank on there ?

Use old tyre treads in the concrete, then you can have a ‘guess the tyre’ game for hours of endless fun with friends….
