I am trying to remove a banjo fitting from a Shimano caliper but it seems stuck I really dont want to attack it with a silly amount of force with the 3mm allan key. Any tips on removing it not sure it I should try and heat it first.

Bit of a risk of shearing the bolt here IME, which can put the caliper in a fix (would need to carefully drill out the ruined bolt shaft).

Prob start with the silly amount of force on the allen key. When that rounds it out try the torx head hammered in method. If that doesn’t work try and dremel / hacksaw a slot in the bolt head that will take a large screwdriver. If that doesn’t do it then take to your feet and cast the whole caliper into the outer darkness.

Had the same on a new Zee caliper which uses a cheaper looking banjo bolt than the usual Shimano offering. In the end just used a socket wrench wrench with the appropriate allan key head in a socket for bit more leaverage – no problems
