Just looking through my yahoo spam folder and I appear to have spam emails from my own yahoo mail stating 'make her wild tonight' 'improve your stiffee' etc…

Whats going on here? Has my email account been somehow taken over by a spam virus?

Nothing is coming up on the mcafee scans…

More likely your address is being spoofed – someone is sending mails which appear to come from your address. Nowt really to worry about TBH – it'll die down in a bit.

Chances are they're spoofing the sender address to match your own; it's a method of bypassing some anti-spam filters. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you had been compromised, your email account would be full of complaining people.

Everything else seems fine, so probably spoofing like you've both said…will keep an eye on it.

Can't hurt to run a scan of course. http://www.malwarebytes.org

Was going to say try and keep your email off the internet, i.e. avoid posting name@mydomain.com in any forums or profiles……but you've already done that here.
