I’m looking for a new (3 season) sleeping bag and I’ve got my eye on the Montbell bags because of that elasticy thing they do.

Is there anywhere in the UK selling them? Or any alternatives?

I read somewhere that ME Xero bags use the same tech as the Montbell ones, is that still the case?

Asked a similar question a couple of weeks back.

Went for the alpkit skyehigh in the end.

Used a couple of times so far, great quality, toasty warm…and a relative bargain at the mo.

    Def recommend 🙂

alpkit pipedream, was expensive but I love it to bits, and once I invested did not regret it at all.

After a near death freezing cold night at Afan a few years back I bought an Alpkit one. Well pleased with it.
Worth the investment. Buy cheap, buy twice etc.

Shame it’s down (no pun intended) at the mo, but mine is great 🙂

PHD fantastic kit but many £££’s. Maybe more than the OP wishes to spend? RAB and ME do good down bags in th UK without getting too spendy or Alpkit if you like cheap stuff…..

+1 Alpkit. Kept me very toasty on a bivvy in the lakes. Very good prices too.

    Don’t rate anything Alpkit.

I was close to buying a PHD Minim 400, but then came across the Montbell down hugger tech thingy and it seems perfect. I want something with the stretch thing going on.

    Cost isn’t really an issue.

I have worked for them in the past [When they had a London shop]. Know almost everything you could possibly want.

Give them a call, or drop in. They WILL help.

Alpkit are bargain basement. People rave about their warranty, that’s because you may well need it. I’d rather buy something that won’t….However, my PHD Hispar may necessitate the trade in of a kidney if the OP is to buy something similar.

Think I’m gonna go for the Xero 300. Shame there’s nowhere selling MontBell at the minute.
