I’ve been running SLX brakes on two bikes for about two years with no problems.

Just fitted Halt replacement pads which were a pig of a fit compared to shimano pads AND NOW I’m getting shed loads of embarrasing screaming from the brakes.

Anyone else had the same?

It was getting to me so I swapped these new Halt replacement pads out for new shimano pads and the noise has gone away. 25 mile ride today and not a peep from them.

My observation is that they didn’t fit properly and after hard braking you could see the lip, on the opposite end of the pad to the securing bolthole, sticking up. Thus I think the poor fit allowed movement in the pads under heavy braking which caused the resonance and screaming that was really pissing me off.
