Down here on a course, is there any nice pubs? I’m currently sat in the wetherspoons any decent boozers near by?

The swan on the river is not bad, head over the bridge from the w/spoons and you will see it.

…or turn right out of the Wetherspoons, go a few hundred yards down the road to the hobgoblin. Nice ale, can be quite lively in the evening (if you like that sort of thing!) either way the Swan mentioned above, or the Hobgoblin beat the wetherspoons.

hooli, I think you’ll find if you read the Swan’s menu intro, while they’re admittedly quite close to Staines, they are, in fact, in The Hythe, Egham.

    😕

Hobgoblin will be virtually empty midweek but will have the footie on the big screen. Swan is best for posh crisps and wood fires, The Bells off Church Street (5 mins walk from HobGob) has good ales on tap. Egham is best for lively midweek pubs as full of Royal Holloway students (read: hockey totty)
