  • Flat tips for a clipped-in rider?

I usually ride SPDs but went out on flats yesterday due to a foot injury (weak rotation, can’t unclip).

I found it a little disconcerting to have my foot hover a couple of mm above the pedal coming off rollovers, mini jumps etc. Is that a technique issue, or just how it is? I was wearing trainers.

Any other tips for a habitual clipped-in rider? The use case is XC/ST/light trail, nowt awesome. Ta.

Yes, 100% technique. Focus your weight into your feet, not your hands/seat. Relax and move!
