Watched episode 1 on catchup last night and now can’t wait for episode 2 tomorrow. It’s a kind of West Yorkshire version of Fargo, starring Sarah Lancashire as the weary but astute cop.

My wife and I watched it on Friday night and we enjoyed it.

It seems to have the cast from ITV’s Benidorm in it.

Impressed so far.
I thought Last Tango In Halifax was good too.

Preferring Hinterland on BBC4 for that ‘not quite Twin Peaks’ weird crime drama vibe at the minute.

I actually couldn’t watch all of the first episode, the kidnapping was too harrowing for me.

It’s certainly realistic in the same was as Fargo; cockups, coincidences and bad luck seem to happen all the time.

I expect the BBC will sell it to the Danes and the Swedes. And the Flemish, who gave us the similarly excellent and harrowing Salamander.
