Brave man lending out that!
Not been out yet but planning getting the train to Hope then riding home on Monday with a mate. 40+ miles with a lot in the Peak and a few cheeky beers at every opportunity 😉 Here’s hoping it stays dry!
A nice few hours out in the white peak with my wife on the tandem this morning. Trails here have been really dry, but today’s rain have softened them up a bit. A rock strike bent the rear dropout so will put a new one on tomorrow before heading into the dark peak for a solo ride in the morning. Trying to put off the painting that needs doing!
We’re going to stay in a static in lancs for 2 nights from tomorrow so I got my ride in last night. Longer than usual and I wasnt feeling it to start as was tired. I pushed on anyway and plumped for the harder route with the double hard hills. Had a great time, rural roads and tracks under the moon, just the antidote I needed after a shitty week at work.
I finished nights this morning so went for an early evening spin on Corrennie Moor. The light was fantastic.
I also nearly managed a full house on Strava…..managed to get 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th place cups in one ride……….I know, ‘cool starry bra!’
With the weather still been good just a bit colder we went back up onto Cutgate for the second week running, put the Go Pro on Fin on the way back just to get some idea of what the trail looks like from a dogs view.
No pics, just road rides in Saddleworth on Friday and Blackstone Edge, Hebden, back to Oldham today. I’m training for a charity ride so I’m just hammering the road bike currently.
Never seen the peaks look that dry in April. And I lived there for 20+ years! I’m not sure I’ve ever ridden cut gate where dust can visibly be seen. If I put the go pro on my lab, she’d eat it 😉
Had a brilliant day in the FoD today. 35km with about 300 yards of road. Not many pics but it was dry and fast and about as perfect as it gets. Let’s hope it’s not peaked too soon!
Here’s me about to case a little gap jump. I did clear it on the attempt no one was taking pics. Honest!

I like to think I look better in black and white 😉

Rode the Braunton 150 starting Friday at 9:30 with a minutes silence on the first hill for Mike.
240km/6700m in 20:28.
A good route taking in some lovely views, some good trails and a lot of mostly rideable climbs. A bit weathery over night with heavy rain and a strong headwind between 10 and 1 am but good conditions aside from that.
Rode the steep stuff at Ballater today. I was riding well until I clipped a tree which planted me straight into another one. I’d just mentioned to my mate that it was the first time in ages that I felt a fullface might have been in order!
So far, just mucking around in Mine Woods, Bridge of Allan in evening and then (no pics) last night rattle round the Darn Path and Kippenrait with LD of the forum and eldest_oab. Out in Morzine for the week. Too late to bother with much skiing.
Pulled the bike out of the cellar and pleased with myself that I properly Serviced it when putting away at the end of summer. Bit of air in the tyres and rode away in good nick. Brakes all fine, reverb no problem, gears trimmed.
Rode up the river to the lac du mine d’or, bit of snow on some of the off road section near the top. Rode down the snow over some of the ski de fond routes. Great to be back out on the bike out here, even if low level.
I’m not that local really. Leamington Spa.
Usually drive past Bredon on the way to other places but have wanted to try it there for a while.
Beautiful area.
No pics, but a local ride showing a mate round on Friday
Couple of laps of gisburn yesterday, including hill reps of hamburger hill. Tore the legs off my ‘training partner’ 8)
16 mile loop today locally, including a couple of decent climbs.
Degla tomorrow, with ‘training partner’ *rubs hands together*
The main obvjective was to see this, now its been moved outside, its huge! This photo was taken using an iphone on max zoom, from 4kms away![/quote]
Is that at the top of the hill above the old railway line?
You’re very local to me! I keep meaning to ride up the John Bunyan trail and take a photo from the top near Haynes to get a photo of the Airlander from a different angle.
Glad to see people are getting out – well mostly. Funny old weather, not warm but trails are mint. I’m hoping to sneak out for a third ride tomorrow having strategically booked a family lunch at the end of the trails 🙂
Today however I have been dealing with a difficult set of kitchen cabinets. I’ve had to stop for a beer. Otherwise there will be a fire 😉
