   I managed to put my ex gf into therapy when I dumped her. Not proud of it, though.

   If I got hold of you'd you'd have to call the firemen in to release you from the sex swing and manacles

   I dumped my ex and the first that she knew about it was when she returned from Christmas break and found me with another girl in a club. Oops. The girl in the club is mrshora

   A previous ex dumped me and I asked if she could drop me off at the local Student club. She agreed then popped in later (changed her mind) to find me getting off with my sisters best friend after I'd given her a sob-story)

   I broke up with my long term girlfriend during a holiday in Centre Parcs in the lake District. (yes, that is how to have a crap holiday in the Lakes - Centre Parcs, not with my ex).

   Anyway, I just couldn't bare to be in our relationship any more so I ended it in the chalet.

   Biggest issue was the 7 hour car drive back to Cardiff. Talk about uncomfortable. All my mates took the piss out of me for not waiting until we were back home. (to be fair to them it was after the dust had settled and the tears had dried up).

   I don't know which is worse. Dumping or being dumped.

   I want to end it with the girl I'm seeing at the moment but I'm too much of a coward - especially after doing the face to face thing 2 years ago with my ex. It damn near ruined me.

   I'm thinking that being a crap boyf and letting her dump me is the best compromise!

   I dumped a girlfirend after exactly a year cos I thought I ought to be "living the life" a bit.
   I did for 2 weeks, then went crawling back to her cos I missed her too much. It took a while but she took me back.

   We got married 4 years later.

   That was 10 years ago

   all lived happily ever after.

   (except for the little itchy bug I picked up in those 2 weeks...)

   A mate was going to Spain with his girlfriend for a fortnight. As the plane was taking off she burst into tears and told him she'd got back with her ex a couple of days before Apparently it was a long two weeks.

   feel i have to add this. The girl that works for me is due to give birth in two weeks on Monday her boyfriend told her he doesn't want to be with her anymore and asked her to leave she went to her mums who never let her in and she is now staying at her grans

    On this subject I don't want to come across as boorish. I'm in this territory now. On my comment 'most' funnily the people I didn't get on with on the forum I've actually liked in person, others are gems. Pook is actually a top bloke as podge etc will agree. He deserves some sort of award.

    One of those people who you laugh out loud at then the conscience kicks in an you go 'ohhhhh that's bad' . Bless, I think everyone is a bit like that after a pint. Your just being honest, not boorish. Nothing wrong with that.

    My worst one, which I'll admit I have done a few times is pulling the patented "Spen Escape", over reacting over the slightest thing to provoke a response and then exclaiming "Right, I'm sick of this, I'm out of here, we're done".

    But that's when I was younger and I am not proud.

    split from my first wife not long after moving to leeds (she was going to join me)and instead of going home one friday night as normal i called her to say that i had got a ticket to see leeds v arsenal so wouldn't be back until next week.

    She said that if i didn't come home that weekend don't bother coming home ever again.

    Worst thing was we drew 1 - 1. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank equalised late on to spoil my weekend!

    oh and i never spoke to her again, and eventually got divorced. Got loads of biking done though!

    Around 6 weeks after we were married, MrsMM V1.0 turned around and suggested 'we'd' made a mistake.
    Spent 12 months trying to make it work, ended in amicable divorce, hurt like hell at the time...
    Took me 12 months to get my head outta my arse then, first night out when I felt 'back to normal', not even looking for a 'meaningful overnight relationship' and I meet the lady who became the current MrsMM...

    My Ex was going to Goa with her sister, She was so disorganised I had to to some very fast driving to get her to the station in time for her train. I told her on the platform that we wouldn't be seeing each other when she got back. I stood and watched her train leave, she was in tears.

    Right decision
    There is no good way or good time.
    Still not a great experience.

    This thread makes me happy for some of the mistakes I've made.

    Done the text thing, done the email thing, done the tell her mates thing.

    Worst one still has to be telling an ex (who's now married and babied) who was a 100% strict 'no sex before marriage' after 2 years that I was 'sick of this and its going nowhere' and that we were done...in the middle of writing up her PhD...and her first serious relation ship...and after being a support for the whole of her research...Then promptly hooked up with her best mate a week later....who I'm still with 7 years later....ouch.

    Not proud of that.

    Breaking up is awful. This is probably contentious but (for us guys) it can be just as hard being the instigator.

    I've always said if your dumped get out there ASAP. Don't sit at home listening to crappy CD's and thinking lifes crap.

    You aint getting any rewards at the Pearly gates for grieving someone leaving you.
