    has anyone ever bodged a gripshift to act as a cable remote for a dropper post?

    No but I’ve done it with a rapid fire. It worked ok. Good if you’re on a 1x type setup.

    Remember how gripshift used to shift when you pulled up on the bars? That could be a very real pain in the arse….

    Jerome Clementz uses a gripshift for his post. Something about not needing to move fingers from brakes, which does make sense. Iirc, one of the big bike websites had instructions on how to convert one.

    Edit: had it wrong. It’s his Cannondale’s travel adjust he uses it for. Should still be easily doable though.

    I’ve got a spare Suntour remote fork lockout lever about to go on Ebay. I was going to use it for a seatpost remote myself. It does have a click stop ‘lock’ on it though that I was trying to figure out how to remove.
    Pulls 10mm btw.
