Spent hours with the pressure washer getting the stubborn remains of the old stuff off.
Ironic, because it just wore/flaked off/looked awful in most places.

Didn’t pre-treat the wood, but we went for the darker oil.
Even after two or three coats you can still see the remnants of the old stuff on the uprights, so it pays to do as much prep as you can stand.
Didn’t try the chemical strippers, they get terrible reviews.
Took about a dozen goes with the pressure washer to strip it properly.
Ours was a mess though.
Still got a bit to do this year, but the Liberon is great stuff.
