I’ve just aquired a 1986 Dan Shotton bike which is very cyclocross like.
Does anyone know where I can get some 27″ cyclocross tyres? Do they exist?

That one branded as argos on retrobike ?

It is a road bike – only thing that has in common with a cx bike is drop bars…. And cantis 🙂

Yep, But that’s what they were like back then. The biggest gear is 86″.

    It’ll convert well………..

Pretty certain you could only get tubs for cross back then. And old cross frames where tight at the stays, I think tubs were only 28mm wide.

I had a late seventies Don Farrel, and I could get away with 700c wheel/tyres because it was designed to run tubs/sprints.

Are you sure it’s deffo 27×11/4″?

Yep, def 27 x 1/4. Oh yes the dreaded tubs, been there, not again.
