Just noticed that creaking BB is actually a cracked chain stay. Frame is an inbred. Crack doesnt go all the way around yet.

Should I get it repaired at bike shop or get the fitter at work to weld around crack?

replacing the stay unlikely to be cost effective at a frame repairer. Perhaps get a patch welded over it?

    Or replace.

inbreds are probably not worth reparing – buy a new one.

be wary of the fitter – bike tubing is very thin relatively – unless he is good he may just blow a big hole in it! obviously i don’t know your fitter so this no smear on his ability! 🙂

How old is the frame? Try contacting On One as you may get a cheap new frame off them. I did when a similar thing happened.

Ge the fitter to give it a try (if free) but prepare to give on one a bell for a discounted frame for being loyal.

    Safety element too.
