Are they worth the money for hybrid cable disks brakes? Will I notice a difference?

Or are they just bike bling, which isn’t a bad reason to want them.

    ^ cheers.

I was watching my brake cables move when I was adjusting them at the weekend and it got me thinking about them again.

30quid is quite steep though, but they are in red, which matches my frame.

i’ve used Yokozuna which were a pain to fit but worked well – the inner wrap under the clear coat went rusty though so i now use Jagwire which are just as good.

And red compressionless will obviously be better than other colours 😉

^ using red is about as adventurous as I could go. Frame is red and black. I could possibly have silver, or just got a completely clashing colour such as neon green.

But I heard that red compress better.

make sure you finish the ends off properly. might seem obvious but if you don’t you’ll end up compressing the inner with the angled outer if it’s bad.

I ordered this stuff, much cheaper than the full kits, I specified 3m and it arrived in one complete length, it made a huge different to the disc brakes on my CX bike!

Depends what cables you’re starting with, of course. But if your existing cables are poor then the difference is night and day.
