Not a particularly exciting post but what cassette ratios are you guys using?

I ask as Ive just gone from 11/34 on a bike I specced myself to 11/32 on a S/H one

I thought I was struggling on climbs on the middle ring and Ive just worked out why

    D'oh

    Any thoughts?

FWIW Im kind of liking the extra effort and workout
Although my local middle ring climbs are now a challenge if Im feeling knackered

    Cheers

I usually ride a 32 but I must admit, as I get older, a 34 would be pretty good now and then !
When I was racing regular I often had a 28 to save weight !!!

Just occasionally, the 34 is useful… But mainly I like the wider range in the middle ring, more than I like the lower range in the little ring.

If you dont run a granny, then its a good idea to have a 34.
I dont notice the difference with a full triple though, so I have 11-32 on that bike.

Just like you can never be too rich or too thin you can never have too low a gear.

Bleurgh! New bike is fitted with an 11-34 & I don't get on with it. I didn't think I'd notice the difference but I always seem to be in between ratios.

Might appreciate it up the hills in Spain come July!
